Trouva, an online marketplace that promotes and delivers goods from independent boutiques, continues its big success in the UK. Featuring ‘The Sunday Times’ on November 12th, Trouva announces raising $10m (£7.6m, €8.57m) from high-profile tech backers including BGF, Index Ventures and Octopus Investments.

Its platform brings together more than 350 bricks and mortar boutiques from across Britain and helps them boost sales online by providing cloud software to digitize stock. It also handles logistics, including click-and-collect and deliveries.

Mandeep Singh, 33, Trouva’s chief executive, said to ‘The Sunday Times’ it will use the money to grow its shop network and establish a tech hub in Lisbon. “Britain is a nation of shopkeepers, and we are amazingly good at retail and ecommerce,” he said.

The company was founded by Singh and Alex Loizou, and its network of stores is made up of independents that go through a selective application process.
