New “Horizon 2020" funding opportunities up to €30 billion

The Cyprus Research Promotion Foundation (RPF - "IPE") will present funding opportunities for the period 2018-2020 and the policy framework for the next scheduled period.

The Foundation for Research Promotion (RPF) is organizing an official presentation of the new work programs and funding opportunities for the Horizon 2020 Program for the period 2018-2020 worth € 30 billion. The event, which will be addressed by the Minister of Finance, Mr. Harris Georgiades, on "Horizon 2020 Cyprus National Event" - "Work Programs 2018-2020, Towards FP9", will be held on Tuesday 16 January 2018 at the Filoxenia Conference Center, at Nicosia.

The purpose of the event is to inform the research and business community, policy makers and research-academia leaders, about the current course of Cyprus in Horizon 2020, the current developments on the structure and content of the 9th Framework Program the EU and the new Work Programs of the Horizon 2020 Programme.

Event’s agenda includes 14 workshops on the opportunities for EU funding for research and innovation projects, as well as practical advice on successful submission of proposals. At the same time, "Networking Corner" will be held at the event, where interested parties may have meetings with the relevant RPF executives for the Enterprise Europe Network and the National Contact Points of the Horizon 2020 Program.

The event will include a total of 30 experts from Cyprus and Europe, the European Commission while hosting government officials, representatives and executives of international organizations.

Horizon 2020 is the EU's largest program for funding research and innovation activities with a total budget of € 80 billion for the period 2014-2020. Cyprus has so far achieved the largest absorption per capita from the Program in relation to with the other participating countries in Europe, demonstrating the country's ability to draw European resources in spite of tough pan-European competition.
