Bank of Cyprus will hold the 2nd Hackathon for the development of applications on innovative technologies in the field of financial transactions (Fintech) on 26, 27 and 28 October 2018 at the Bank of Cyprus Cultural Foundation in Nicosia.
This is the second Fintech Hackathon to take place in Cyprus organised by BOC.
Two open API days will be held:
Limassol 10 October 2018 at ARIS innovation Center (click here to register)

The two open API Days will feature a discussion on the Open APIs of Bank of Cyprus and more details about the hackathon procedures and guidelines.
The Open APIs of Bank of Cyprus support the technological and business cooperation with developers, startups, companies and any parties interested.
Aims of the hackathon
- To support entrepreneurship and innovation.
- To bring together teams of students or startup businesses over three days in order to create innovative solutions in the field of fintech and turn them into a pilot application or an MVP.
- To strengthen the interest of the local community in Fintech in themes such as:bocAPI, Blockchain, Artificial Intelligence, Chat Bots, E-wallet, Social Banking, Mobile Banking.
The participants can be developers, analysts, designers, communication specialists, marketing and customer service executives, business consultants, professionals, engineers, financial executives, university and high school students or anyone interested to disrupt the FinTech sector.

2nd Place 4,000 EUR
3rd Place 2,000 EUR
Regardless of whether the teams are awarded or not, there will be opportunities for networking and further development. The BOC Hackathon will be attended by experts of the local and international market and economy sectors, who will participate as mentors to support the teams during the 3 days.
BEST BOC API IMPLEMENTATION 1,000 EUR
You can use the Open APIs in order to implement new services and features in your applications within the context of BOC hackathon #fintech2. Examples: e-payments, p2p payments, authentication mechanisms, loyalty, personalized services, etc. Experienced mentors and bank executives will technically support the teams who want to use the upgraded bocAPIs to develop innovative applications.
